ReplyDeletePILGRIMS WORLD & ARE wORLD
ReplyDeleteI feel that still till this day that everybody worship freely in the United States Of America. Since back in 1620 the goverment has been collecting taxes and still to this day we are paying taxes on things that we need in this world every state pays diffrent taxes and because the economy is real bad and back then it was just as bad or a little better then what it is today.
In the old days the meetings evolved into the local government, with landowners voing on law and electing officials and then anyone that wanted to attend a meeting went and gave there opinions. We give are opinions in meeting to like if they where to make a law or something we could sit in on meeting and give suggestions but its up to them if they want to take them and make a diffence.
I DONT THINK I NDERSTAND THIS OR NOT!
Roger Williams wanted people to belive in his self and other things never give up because he never did and that he loved church. In 1636 when Roger Williams & Anne Hutchinson was banned from Massachusetts because of her religious Views. He headed south and still went for what he believed in. The out come of all this is that for him still going for the religion he belived in he changed laws now everyone can worship how they want.
ReplyDeletePILGRIMS
ReplyDeletePilgrims were a Separatist who journeyed to the American colonies in the 1600's for religous freedom. They were similar to Americans too because they celebrate Thanksgiving also. Pilgrims came to America for freedom of religon of being christians. They wanted to choose they're own church to find a good religon. So pilgrims have every right be free of something they want. Many people from different cultures come here to America to find the right religon. America became a freedom of religon to many people that had a chance to improve their lives.
The pilgrims came over to the colonies for religious reasons. They to celebrated holidays just as we do. Ten years after increasing persecution of puritans another group arrived on the Massachusetts Bay with a charter for a new colony. Many people traveled from all over the world to come to America for religious rights. The American colonies became a freedom to religion so many people can change the way that they are living it also helped us become and worship what ever religion that we wanted to.
ReplyDeletePilgrams and Roger Willams
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have quckliy read, Pilgrams where seperarist who wanted religous freedom from Britian. Roger Williams (NOT ROBIN WILLIAMS AS I FIRST THOUGHT) was a religous man as well. He out spoke and was kicked out of Massachusetts. He found Providence which later became Roade Island. I see the matching points are that the two are related by the pursue of religous freedom. In current America, freedom of religon is the constitution. You see many religons today in the U.S.
Roger Williams was an open minded minister who was ready to give others freedom. He was also a Separatist who would preach in Salem. Roger also went up to the indians and teach them christianity. He drew many arguements torwards the history of christianity.Roger Williams wanted peace for both religons and freedom for both. He had influenced many people during his years even people who didn't believe him.
ReplyDeleteI see both the pilgrims and Roger Williams both having a lot to do with the way Americans are today. They both believed very strongly in religion. Because of the pilgrims and Roger Williams, America has the freedom of religion.
ReplyDeletePilgrims and Roger Williams
ReplyDeleteRoger Williams was a minister who was banned from Massachusetts in 1636. He was banned because of his religious views, as was Anne Hutchinson. After being banned Williams moved south and established Providence. The government here had no control over religious matters. This relates to what it means to be an American because the First Amendment in the Constitution is freedom of religion. As citizens in America we are given the right to practice whatever religion we wish.
In 1620 a small group of Separatists, or Pilgrims set sail for Virginia on a ship called the Mayflower. They chose to come to America because they were being persecuted by King James for wanting to form their own congregations apart from the Anglican Church. They left England in hopes of worshiping freely in America. This relates to many people in our time. They leave the countries they live in due to laws governing religion. They look at America, and being an American as freedom. People immigrate to the United States in hope of religious freedom, just as the Pilgrims did.
Roger Williams
ReplyDeleteRoger williams was banned from Massachussetts for expressing his religious values in 1636. Today Americans can speak about their faith, speech, press, and many other things freely because of that. That's why the immagrants came to America in the first place. First it was Roger Williams, then Anne Hutchinson, a few more followers and pretty soon even the Puritans joined their ranks. If it weren't for those bold men and women the America we Know today may be a completely different place.
Pilgrims
ReplyDeleteSome separatists headed for Virgina on the Mayflower in 1620 because they wanted to worship freely. A storm happened when the separaists were on their way to america and they landed and they landed on Cape Cod. The separatists built homes and became friends with the Wampanoag. The government collected taxes to support the church, and the puritian leaders of the colony set strict rules for behavior. These separatists were known and the pilgirims.
Roger Williams
Roger Williams was a minister who was banned from Massahusttes for his religous beliefs. In 1636 Williams headed south and created Providence. Williams created religous freedom and thats is important to many americans today.
THE PILGRIMS
ReplyDeleteThe Pilgrim saga started when a group of religious dissidents who believed it was necessary to separate from the Church of England.Persecuted in England because of their religious beliefs the "separatist" moved to Holland in 1607/1608.The group, joined by other colonists and by the ventures financial backer began to sail to America in 1620 on the Mayflower.
Roger Williams
Roger Williams was a minister who was born into The Church of England,he graduated from Cambridge University.Roger Williams later turned down offers of preferment at the university and at the church. He decided to leave to America where he adopted a job at a Salem church in Plymouth, later he was banned from Massachusetts for his beliefs. In 1636 Williams headed south to claim land from the Natives which he later called Providence.
The Pilgrims and Roger Williams both created opportunity for themselves through their religious fights. Thus, showing that never give up on something you believe in because anything can come out of it.And to me thta is what i believe is an American.
The Pilgrims were a small group of English separatists, who want practice their religion free from the threat of the Britain and King Henry VIII. When Roger Williams also fought for his religion beliefs. Both the Pilgrims and Roger Williams are brave and that's what changed our future today. An American in my definition is someone who stand up for their own rights, and who can believe that the simplest thing can make a difference.
